Ships today, for capital and deal firms

The investor remembers.Pick up with the full story.

A capital firm gets the same productevery other firm gets, and that is the point: one timeline per person, mail and calls that belong to you, campaigns you can point at an LP list, and a public page that puts interest into the dashboard instead of into somebody’s inbox. It turns out those four things are the whole job of a firm raising from a few hundred relationships.

A warm introduction is only the beginning. Protect the work that follows with shared investor context, visible commitments and updates from your own domain. Keep fund accounting and specialist reporting in the systems built for them.

What it does for a capital firm

Say a name. Get everything.

Emerson is the relationship CRM that gives your firm a shared memory. Connected emails, calls, meetings, documents and payments come together around each client, so your team knows what happened, what was promised and what needs to happen next.

/ 01

One timeline per investor

Type a name. The introduction at the conference two years ago, the call where he asked how the preferred return works, the deck, the two quarterly updates he was sent, the text last Thursday about his son's school. In order, on one screen, from connected and imported activity. Assembled out of what actually happened rather than what an associate typed into a field on a Friday afternoon.
/ 02

Campaigns aimed at the list you already have

The quarterly LP update is a campaign. So is the re-raise note to everyone who came in on fund one, and the sorry-we-passed note to the twelve who did not. It leaves from your domain and under your name, never through a shared sender three other firms are also using, and every send lands on that investor's timeline. The next call starts from what they have actually received rather than from what you hope they read.
/ 03

A public offering page that records interest in the dashboard

You send the link. Somebody reads it and puts their hand up, and the interest arrives as a record attached to that person, not as a form email that has to be re-keyed at nine at night. A soft commitment made on that page and one made on a call become the same kind of fact on the same timeline. Emerson will not size the allocation for you and it will not tell you the raise is covered. It will make sure the conversation is never the thing you lost.

When the context lives with the relationship, a handoff does not have to start from zero. Walk into the meeting prepared, pick up where a colleague left off, and review the next commitment before it slips.

Where the line sits

Your administrator keeps their job.

You are going to run diligence on us. Start here, because these are the answers that would otherwise turn up in week five.

Fund accounting

Capital accounts, NAV, waterfalls, distributions and K-1s belong with your administrator, and they stay there. Emerson runs the firm around the fund: the relationships, the promises, the documents and the money owed to the business itself.

Cap table management

Share classes, options, ownership percentages and the register stay with your cap table provider. A commitment recorded on an Emerson timeline preserves the conversation: what was said, by whom and when. It is not a substitute for your ownership records.

Broker-dealer activity

Nobody at Emerson North is a registered broker-dealer, and the software does not behave like one. It does not solicit, it does not match, it does not place, and it takes no part in an offer. The offering page captures that someone raised a hand. Whether you may speak to that person, and under what exemption, is your obligation and your counsel's.
Getting your investors in

The list you keep is the list we load.

Your investor list comes in as a CSV contact import. Names, firms, addresses, whatever columns you have been keeping, loaded once so nobody is looking at an empty dashboard on day one. After that the list stops being a list. Mail and calendar connect through your own Google or Microsoft account, with their consent screen and not our password field, and every exchange with those people starts landing on their timeline without anyone logging anything.

Who is running it

A firm raising from a few hundred relationships.

A real estate capital firm runs on Emerson. The part worth saying out loud is that they run the same product you would get. There is no capital build, no investor module, no separate price. The timeline, the campaigns and the offering page are the product, and a capital firm turns out to be a business where those three happen to be the whole game.

What a general partner asks

The four we get before the second call.

Do our LPs log in to a portal?

Investors can receive updates from your address and open documents you choose to share. Your team has the connected history behind the conversation. If you need a specialist investor portal, review its reporting and access requirements with us before deciding what to keep.

We looked at DealCloud and Affinity. Why this instead?

DealCloud is Request a scoped quote, plus null. Configurable deal management, relationship intelligence and automatic activity capture for professional firms. Compare the workflows, integrations and implementation scope your team actually needs. Affinity is Essential: $2,000 per user/year. Warm introduction paths, automatic email and calendar capture, and deal pipelines. Compare the selected plan and seat mix with a firm-wide subscription and your day-to-day workflow. Juniper Square is Request a scoped quote, null. Investor CRM, onboarding, portals, reporting and fund administration for private markets. Keep specialist fund infrastructure where you need it. Emerson does not replace fund accounting. All three are worth their money to a firm with someone employed to run them. If that someone is you, at night, the question is a different question, and $1,000 a month for the firm is the shape of our answer.

Where does our investor list actually sit?

Every dashboard runs on its own database and its own deployment, with its own credentials. Isolation is at the credential level, not a tenant column in a shared table. Two customers cannot see each other because there is no shared place to look. You will ask about SOC 2 in the same breath, so here it is before you have to. Emerson runs on SOC 2 Type II certified infrastructure, with encryption at rest and in transit and a separate database per customer. Our own certification is underway — policies, access reviews and audit logging are being put in place now, with the external assessment next. Ask on the call and we will tell you exactly where the programme stands.

We have nine hundred investors and an associate who owns the list. What changes for him?

He stops being the integration. Every email he sends from his own mailbox lands on the right person's timeline without him opening a CRM, every call and meeting does the same, and the update he sends 900 people goes out as one campaign under your domain. Getting the list in is a CSV contact import. He will still qualify, still chase, still take the notes that matter. He will stop retyping.

And the ones everybody asks
What does it actually replace?

Emerson brings client records, meeting capture, e-signatures, campaigns, tasks and shared documents into one workflow. We review your current tools with you to decide what can be replaced and what should stay.

How long until it is running?

Standard setup takes two business days after we confirm the scope and receive the access and files we need. Larger migrations and custom work get an agreed schedule.

Is it per seat?

No. $1,000 a month for the firm, everyone included. Give your partners, assistants and team access without a seat fee. Only connected mailboxes beyond the included allowance add to the subscription.

Can we get our data out?

Yes, whenever you ask, as a full export in a format you can actually open. Your data is yours. Emerson itself stays ours, so what you would take is the record, not the software.

Do I have to move off the tools I like?

No. Your mail stays where it is, Gmail or Outlook. Emerson reads and writes through your own account rather than replacing it.

The next investor call should build on the last one.
